Pripyat 2011

Exposing ones body to radiation is an unavoidable side effect to visiting the amazing abandoned city of Pripyat, although for some people that’s part of the attraction. However most people will only visit the zone for around four to five hours in their lifetime.
I’m not most people.
I have submitted a my passport, along with a request to the Ukrainian government to spend two days, and three nights in ‘the zone’.
I plan to be met by a government official at the airport, and whisked straight to the zone.
The following day, after a government issue breakfast in the Chernobyl workers canteen I will have a full day photographing Pripyat.
Then spend another night actually in Chernobyl Sleeping, eating and no doubt drinking with the government workers.
Then after sharing a breakfast with them, spend a second day exploring the zone. On the third night I will either spend a third night in the zone, or hitch hike 150 miles back to Kiev.
I await their response.
