47. St. Martins Deep Shelter

St. Martins Deep Shelter - Kent.



So this was the second stop on a mad 305 mile, 6 hour drive south to get some underground action in.



Explored with Nelly, Skeleton Key, Wevsky, Space invader, Trogladite, Mrs Trogladite, Ginger, and Ian B. Cheers to the local lads for sharing your knowledge.



There’s some lovely stuff above ground, dating right back to the mid 1800s, but I’m here to be underground. There would be massive 10” guns on the cliff edge pointing out to sea, with ammo and people stored ‘safely’ below.





There’s a good amount of tunnels down here, and some interesting splits / features, however a lot of it looks the same so I’ve kept my photos to a minimum. Well, I’ve defaulted to clichéd people shots anyway.
