35. Chernobyl Church
This is the only functioning church in the zone.
There are a couple of small derelict structures which used to be chapels of sorts - but this is the only one that you’d look at and say “That’s for religious purposes”.

The church was here a long time before the powerplant was and is immaculately maintained by the workers to this day. It’s used quite a lot; Easter being a major ritual, as well as the obvious memorials on 26th April each year.

I was lucky enough to be party to an orthodox service one Sunday morning that I was in the zone.
